'A Journey To Here' is a collection of songs born from matters of the heart; personal yet somewhat universal. The title of the album captures the idea of that experiences may take us on long convoluted journeys, but often lead us to ourselves...oh, and they make good songs. The writer, Ricky J Taylor, is from the south and influenced by roots country and bluegrass music. Several cuts are sad songs but in the southern tradition, a good sad song is a good friend. The songs are well supported by award winning musicians including artist Claire Lynch and Jim Wood, 5-time TN state fiddle champion. There's even a traditional instrumental performance including Mike Snider of TV and Grand Old Opry fame. There is a theme of honesty throughout this album; the songs are from the heart, the instruments are real and there was no pitch correction (or any other digital magic) used.
