SIMBIOSE, a duet CD by Brazilian guitarists Daniel Santiago and Pedro Martins marks their first collaboration. The music is casually virtuosic, full of Brazil's polyrhythms and melody, and yet very much a record of the world. Martins is considered one of Brazil's most promising young musicians having achieved extraordinary ability at a very young age winning the 2015 Montreux Jazz Guitar Composition at the age of 21. Santiago is a member of Hamilton de Holandas's quintet. Sometimes more ambient, sometimes more rhythmic, the duo boasts a remarkable affinity. The two nylon string guitars create an effortless weave as if the performers were one mind. Some compositions feature a gentle falsetto voice, reflecting the influence of Milton Nascimento.
