Ensemble Montaigne is a ten piece Lucern-based band of extraordinary musicians who navigate with breathtaking precision through Braxton's complex notation as well as improvising with drive and verve. Braxton's compositions (n. 174 + 96 + 136 + 94 +98 + 193 + language music) were rehearsed and performed under the leadership of Swiss trombonist and composer Roland Dahinden who for three years was an assistant to Anthony Braxton at Wesleyan University.
