Andrew Bamber is a writer and composer of some note. He has written several musical compositions - mostly songs for the Pagan choir, the Troubadours of Albion, of which he is musical director, and various stories and poems. Petronella is his first musical/opera; it is the story of the Witch of Kilkenny, Dame Alice Kyteler, of whom Petronella is the much loved serving girl. It is set in 1324, the year that Petronella perished at the hands of a vengeful church, and so there is much folk influence in the tunes herein, as well as the classical repertoire that Opera lovers expect!
